The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration launched a new program in July 2024 for Hoosiers aged 60 and over who receive Medicaid (or Medicaid and Medicare) benefits. Research shows that most older adults—75% or more—want to age at home and in their communities.

Indiana 211 is a free service that connects Hoosiers with help and answers from thousands of health and human service agencies and resources right in their local communities – quickly, easily, and confidentially. We use statistical data (not personally identifiable information) from calls, texts and web visits to help shed light on the nature of social needs in Indiana for decision-makers and government across the state.

  • Finding or creating a free carpool. You choose if, when, and how you carpool to save money on gas.

  • Finding a Bike Buddy to learn how to bike to work safely.

  • Public Transportation plan: confirm you are taking the most efficient public transportation route.

  • FREE emergency ride home up to 5 times a year, up to 50 miles if you are using alternative transportation like riding the bus or carpooling.
