Job Description

The DFR is the State of Indiana’s Division of Family Resources. This division is responsible for determining the eligibility of individuals for public assistance programs such as TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. The Eligibility Assistant staff are front desk staff who are responsible for helping collect paperwork, processing or “pushing” along applications, assisting clients coming in for public assistance, among other administrative tasks.

  • A Day in the Life of a DFR Office: The Eligibility Assistant (EA) position is a front office, client-facing role that involves a large amount of face to face customer service, as well as clerical responsibilities. As an EA, you are the first point of contact for clients that are applying for public assistance through the Division of Family Resources office. By answering questions and steering the clients in the right direction, you can truly make a difference in the lives of others. This position is the first step in a career ladder with excellent growth potential within the DFR.
